My child is obsessed with this book. I have read 100's of books to my 4 year old through the years. We brought this home from the library and literally read it every single night for two weeks. He has never shown as much interest in any book. So I bought him his own and he'll be thrilled next week to have this in our collection.
My son loves this story. It has lots of simple words for him as he goes from kinder to first. We read a chapter a night and then when we finish we start over. This is his second week reading it and he can almost get through the whole thing by himself.
My 6 year old grandson loves this book. He’s read it multiple times. Great introduction to comic book format!
My 6 year old daughter devoured this book. In her words, "it was weird, scary, funny... I liked it a lot". Great art, kinda reminded me of Mad Magazine from when I was a kid. Good buy. Wish there were more Stinky books.
My children love me to read to them, but no book was captivating enough to convince my six year old with autism to want to read to me. This book, however, was a total ten out of ten. My son loved reading it, and his younger brother patiently listened. We want more Stinky. He is a great, loveable character, and I must say that I always hate book full of bathroom humor and such, but this one didn't offend me at all.
My six year old nephew loves this book, and he's a voracious reader and has been through it a few times. A really fun story with excellent art.
First of all, it's a great kids' book, with 40 colorful and imaginative pages.It's also a joy for those who, like me, have been watching the nascent career of comic book newcomer Eleanor Davis with admiration. Davis, who's only 25, got her start a few years ago in minicomics and quickly became the best contributor to Fantagraphics' anthology, Mome. Davis is interesting to watch because she demonstrates such a strong command of the comics medium and keeps constantly changing her artistic and storytelling approaches. She's experimenting, trying new things out, and it's interesting to see her nail the landing, so to speak, on Stinky, a professional, polished and completely straightforward children's story. Can't wait to see what she does next...!
6yr old grandson loves this book! he is actually able to read it to his little sister and loves the "comic book strip" type graphics.
