I have been interested in learning how to count cards for decades. I've picked up a number of books over that time that told me that card counting was 1) simple, 2) easy, and 3) something an average person could learn with a weekend or so of practice.However I realized that if those statements were true, the casinos would either have to stop playing blackjack, or go bankrupt.Since neither one of those things were happening, it became pretty obvious to me that card counting was NOT 1) simple, 2) NOT easy, and 3) NOT something an average person could learn with a weekend or so of practice. Instead it seemed that the books that claimed it was easy only served to give people a sense of false confidence, because blackjack became more popular and the casinos sure weren't having a problem paying their electric bills.So, I decided that I didn't want to use those books to learn how to count cards.For reasons not related to this review I recently regained my interest in card counting. I didn't want to waste my money on a book that would simply set me up to be cannon fodder for the casino, so I did some research and decided to purchase BLACKJACK ATTACK.This is NOT a book to teach you basic card counting. This is NOT a book that will teach you a simple system. This is NOT a beginners book.As such it is going to be a while before I will be able to use it, or to be honest, even understand all of it.This is a book that works with serious mathematics. It is NOT for everybody.Which is EXACTLY why it is the best book in the field, and one that I am very, very happy I purchased.

I was stunned when I read some of the negative reviews. It was apparent that some of those individuals were looking for a "winning system." This book doesn't provide you with some magical counting system. Rather, the author discusses the nuances of card counting. Don't expect to learn "which system is best." You won't. (Different methods play better with different rule variations.) But, you will learn how to think about the game. I used a counting method before I read this book. I still use the same one. But my approach to the game has changed. For example, at one time I dismissed the importance of deck penetration. No longer. Also, I didn't think that the dealer standing on soft 17 would make that much difference over hitting on soft 17. Wrong. So, although I use the same counting method, my game selection has changed considerably. I didn't learn to count because of this book. But I AM a better player because of this book. And that's because of how I now select my games, not because this book supplied some magical counting system.

It is surprising how few guide books are available for Newfoundland. This one is OK, but falls well short of what I had in Iceland, Ireland, Yellowstone etc. Much of the information is outdated (particularly times of operation for museums, which are usually wrong). I liked the writers style however, probably got it bumped up to 3 stars instead of 2. Don't plan on relying exclusively on this, as it lists so few restaurants and lodging places. Little information on hiking. Supplement this guide book with the freebee guide at the airport, which itself is often out of date (even through produced for 2013 in my case). I wish something better had been available. Fortunately, Newfoundland seems to have embraced the internet and has WiFi at the airports, government sites, parks, museums, hotels and even most B&Bs.

We love Moon books, even when there's a spectualar change in circumstances from the initial visit, the typical Moon guide is thoughful and detailed and reliable. Thie particular guide to Newfoundland and Labrador wasn't even as good as the free guide from the tourism department. There was very little information regarding places to stay, visit, or eat. Use the material provided by the parks or tourism site instead. Hopefully a new version will prove better in the future.

A resonably priced guide book to get started on planning a trip to NL. In these days on-line also is a way to discover the area and make decisions. I am glad I purchased this guidebook; I have found Moon puts out a good product.

It has some information, but is probably less useful than other travel guides I have purchased. Also, the production value is low (B&W pages, etc.)

Shawn Martinbrough discusses the different ways to pull off certain effects in the comic noir style, a black and white style, and he provides examples that bring out his points effectively. The prose is engaging and I didn't put the book down once until I finished it. The art itself is quality stuff and it alone would have been worth the price (to me).I immediately looked for other books by Shawn Martinbrough; unfortunately, there are none. I highly recommend this book.

Really well put together lots of useful tips , love the noir style , this book really helps explain how to do alot of different stuff. Also the pages are big and clear , clean. Really professional, highly recommend this .

This is a surprisingly 'complete' contribution to the growing number of books on how-to create graphic novels. The text is sparing but to the point while the images speak volumes about why and how the images were created for the storytelling task. This is not a step by step about the business of graphic novels or comics but is more of a distilled rendering of Martinbrough's accumulated wisdom about what works in this approach to visual storytelling. I do believe that the reader is more likely to pick up these pointers if the reader has a background in art already. In other words, there is much in the visual aspects of this book to be appreciated if you have tried your hand at visual storytelling already. An excellent reference book for those that are trying their hand at graphic novels.

I was expecting a little more from the book, judging from the fact that the author is a legend (read other reviews)in the comics industry. But the content is still pretty educational and informative. I enjoyed looking at the large print as well as the artwork which is printed on nice good quality paper. Even though the information may seem too comprehensive for more professional artists, they may benefit from looking at how the artwork is done, and in fact, I enjoyed looking at how the author has provided us with different treatment to the same artwork. To me this is precious, and show that the author is versatile in his technique and creative in his use of tools and materials.

Well. it's a textbook. And everything you need to know about the PACS system infield is taught hands on. However, the registry has questions that you learn the answers to here, so it's helpful that way. But assuming you only have to take the registry once and pass, you will never actually use any of the material in this book, on the job.

It's a text book that came in great shape at a reasonable price.

Product was as described and arrived before estimated delivery. I am very pleased with their service and will use them in the future. I recommend them if you are looking for a used textbook.

This edition really does not have many changes from the revised edition so not worth the extra money. However the book itself is easy to read but the information through out the book conflicts itself and is a bit scattered. Our teacher throws out questions on tests because the book can't give a clear concise answer so it's not worth testing on.
